Petite Coats for An Aussie Winter

Australia is all behind when it comes to fashion, only because our seasons are half a year behind what seems to be the rest of the world. Not literally, but in terms of fashionable countries Oz is a little behind. When UK and the US are celebrating summer outfits, poor ole’ Australia still has to go through winter. Winter was my favourite when I lived in the UK. It was all about the layers, the coats, the scarfs, the felts fedora’s… the boots! Ah… winter boots from Pretty-Small-Shoes are the best. Anyways, Brisbane winter doesn’t get too cold. It’s currently 17 degrees (or thereabouts) so there’s no need for puffy…

    Petite Review: Black Milk Clothing

The label, Black Milk,  first got my attention when I saw my friend raving on about her “awesome Black Milk leggings” on Facebook. It became hard to ignore. At first I thought they’d be way too crazy to wear, but the idea of crazy- soon appealed to me. I got my first pair earlier this week and I have already worn them out three times!! Are they ‘petite-friendly‘? I ordered a size Small… Because sadly, I’m no longer an Extra Small :(… (I blame holidays and winter food)… Plus, I don’t like it when elastic on the hips are so tight it reveals my muffin-top- Haha. The measurements of these…

black lace ‘petite’ dress asos I met Dannii! Petite Peplum, Lady Gaga-Style

When it comes to all sorts of trends you can always rely on petite super-celeb, Lady Gaga, to take it a step further. Or a million steps. Take for example in this case, the ‘peplum’. Our petite style queen, Lady Gaga, wears the exaggerated shoulders with a wide-fanned-out peplum detail top – not to mention she gets away with wearing no pants, like, all the time! (when would it be OK for me??) – while all us regular fashionistas would opt for something a little more subtle, pretty and wearable – Like the petite peplum skirt on Asos. Although I wouldn’t spend hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on a top that would…

    Burberry Rain Boots

In my last week in London, it didn’t rain at all. Perfect Spring weather. Bittersweet really, because I got these oh-so-fab Burberry wellies that I’ve been dying to wear. Now that I’ve been back in Queensland Australia it’s pretty much been raining all the time. Yay! (Fingers crossed no more flooding though, right!) My rainboots are a size euro 35 and fit me perfectly. I don’t need to wear thick socks as they are nice and snug already. The Asos crop T-shirt is a size 6 and is quite short so underneath I am wearing a plain black random singlet. I just searched Asos’ site and the top is still…

Spring Colours On A Rainy Day

This winter in London seems to be dragging its feet. I feel as though its been winter since August last year. My petite legs have not seen any sun for so long, I’m getting worried of its pastiness! So, last Sunday I woke up with sun streaming through the room and I jumped up and started yelling for everyone to get up and get ready… We could not waste this precious sunlight… on a Sunday no less! I decided to dress up in celebration for sun and Spring. So I picked out my favourite colourful neck scarf and worked around the theme colours. I know, I’m dorky. It takes me…

Oversized Tee (for petites) With A Purple Splash

Lately I’ve found myself wearing a lot of the following colours; camel, mauve (like a pinkish mauve) and taupe. Felt a bit la-dee-da… so naturally I got bored. So of course I had to start introducing brighter colours into my life. Hello bright purple! I found this fabulous scarf whilst doing a spot of vintage shopping at Camden Markets. It actually was a toss up between a vintage Givenchy neck scarf (£35.00 – I would have bargained lower!) or this £3.00 bundle of brightness. How could I say no? Although I may return for that designer vintage one too! Oversized wine coloured Asos shirt Topshop black bandage skirt black stockings…

Petite-friendly black sheer maxi skirt DIY project

So I was going through my usual elleuk.com hit and I came across this black sheer maxi skirt. I fell in love. I instantly thought thought of my Jil Sander inspiration of a simple white tee tucked into the fluorescent maxi shirt. Jil Sander convinced me to get a maxi. Didn’t get a fluoro pink, yet, but really liked this black sheer maxi by Miss Selfridge. So I went for a little look around to see if I could find a little cheaper. Success! I went onto Asos and found a black sheer maxi for only £15.00. However, the inside material was long and not quite petite-friendly. I decided it…
